Ikamva Labantu recently launched Stichting Ikamva Labantu in the Netherlands. The purpose of Stichting Ikamva Labantu is to grow the donor network and develop new partnerships in the Netherlands.
“We are extremely proud to launch Stichting Ikamva Labantu in the Netherlands. Thank you to everyone for their willingness to make a difference and be part of Ikamva Labantu’s work. We would also like to thank all our existing donors for their unwavering support over the decades and we are immensely grateful to our new Dutch board members,” says Ishrene Davids, Director of Ikamva Labantu.
The Stichting Ikamva Labantu Board includes: Frank Lenselink, Paul de Ridder, Maarten Smits, and Frederique Bontje. Alongside Friends of Ikamva Labantu in the USA and the UK, Stichting Ikamva Labantu in the Netherlands will support the growth of Ikamva Labantu’s international fundraising activities.
This launch event took place in Utrecht on 6 September at the Grand Hotel Karel V and brought together a diverse mix of long-term supporters and newcomers.
This year, Ikamva Labantu is celebrating 60 years of community-led service in township communities and is dedicated to improving the lives and opportunities of the people living in Cape Town’s townships so that they can thrive. Ikamva Labantu’s work focuses on early childhood development, afterschool initiatives and older people.
“The launch of Stichting Ikamva Labantu in the Netherlands is a great stride in the growth of our organisation internationally to ensure our long-term sustainability. We look forward to the opportunities this new foundation in the Netherlands will provide Ikamva Labantu and our programmes in the future,” says Ishrene.
