Power in Partnerships
One of the things that sets Ikamva Labantu apart is our approach to building positive partnerships. No single organisation or non-profit can be all things to all people, and we firmly believe that the right partnerships in action can have a great and sustained impact on our ability to deliver relevant services and programmes.
We have many partners who are instrumental in helping us to deliver services in our communities, and we are proud to introduce just a few of them here:
The Relate Trust
Ikamva Labantu’s Seniors Clubs have been working with the Relate Trust to produce cause-related bracelets since that organisation’s inception.
Our Seniors are provided with work and the materials to make the cause bracelets, while the money they receive makes a significant difference in supplementing their old age grants. Funds received by the Clubs have also allowed them to have a bit of extra money to improve their meeting spaces, buy meals and pay for transport.
Clowns Without Borders
Clowns Without Borders is an artist-led humanitarian organisation that provides psycho-social support to vulnerable children and families affected by crisis. In what will be an ongoing partnership, Ikamva Labantu recently partnered with Clowns Without Borders to offer a day filled with entertainment and valuable life skills to our Seniors.
Since 2004, the South African chapter of this international organisation has performed and taught workshops for more than 200,000 children in Southern Africa, while at the same time building the capacity of community based organisations and caregivers to provide ongoing emotional support to children.

I have so far enjoyed our partnership but i think it needs to grow for mutual benefit for programme exchange and experience sharing.
